DIY - Pucker Those Lips

I'm always looking for fun healthy DIY crafts to do with my three year old daughter and this one was given to us by a friend. What little girl doesn't like lipstick? If they are anything like my daughter, she cant have too many chapsticks for her little purse. We made colored lipbalm or lipstick using just a few household ingredients. It was super easy and took no more than 5 minutes. And now she has some pretty colors that are also safe for her little lips.

Ingredients are: vaseline (petroleum jelly) coconut oil (or vegetable oil), vitamin E oil, and crayola crayons. Our colors of choice were pink and teal :)

In a glass bowl
mix 1 tsp of vaseline (petrolium jelly)
1 tsp coconut oil
a drop of Vit E oil (or pop open a couple capsules)
1 crayon

Place a glass bowl in a sauce pan with water and bring to a low boil
Use a chopstick or popsicle stick to mix it together.
Once it is all melted down and you have your desired color, remove from heat.
After it thickens, place in a little container
Refrigerate for about 30 minutes

You can use all different types of containers, old chapstick tubes...
A 7-day pill box works great if you want to make multiple colors.
(add a little honey or lavender drops if you want to get rid of the crayon scent)
You are all set.

Enjoy!
